St. Pat's are All Ireland Feile Champions

St. Pat's Boys team in Wicklow are the All Ireland Feile Division 10 Champions. They made the long journey to Kerry on Thursday, 23rd June where they were hosted by Renard GAA along with the management team of Paul, Barry, Padge and Patrice.

The Wicklow boys got off to a flying start winning their first game against De La Salle 1-08 to 2-01. They then picked up an even greater win in their second game scoring 9-05 against a Waterville/Dromid side. This put them in a great position going into Saturday where they faced their hosts in their last group game.
It was a close game and only 2 points in the difference at full time, but the Pats side won 4-07 to Renard's 4-05 securing them a place in the Cup Quarter Final.
Skellig Rangers/Valentia Islanders were up next in the QF but the boys were on form gathering another big win, 7-13 to 1-03. The boys faced Annaclone from Banbridge in the Semi Final on the Sunday morning, more determined than ever.
With a good lead at half time they kept their heads down, winning 6-07 to 1-05. The Pats boys were now into a Cup Final, where they were to face a strong Thomastown opposition that Sunday afternoon, but this didn't stop the boys from going in at half time a point ahead. Only conceding a point in the second half, the boys secured the Cup Victory with a final score of 4-05 to 2-02. The St. Pats Boys were crowned Féile winners.
"Congratulations to everyone involved and enjoy the victory! We wish a speedy recovery to the U14 players Captain Cian Kelly who was injured in the final minutes of the final and Jamie Noble and Cathal O'Briain who were unable to play over the weekend due to serious injuries," mentor Patrice Evans said.
