Knockanstackan teams up with good causes for charity drive
The Knocknstackan Music and Arts Festival in Blessington Lakes this year celebrates 10 years of music, arts and fun in a beautiful setting overlooked by the Wicklow mountains.
Once again they have teamed up with three very worthy causes to offer much needed support and increase awareness in the lead up to and during this years festival. The selected charities are Focus Ireland, who aim to prevent homelessness where possible and help those already experiencing homelessness. There will be a mobile bowling alley on site over the weekend with 100% of proceeds going to Focus Ireland.
The second charity is My Lovely Horse Rescue who endeavor to improve the quality of life for horses in need by providing them with the means to live out the remainder of their natural lives in the safety and security of loving foster and forever homes and to educate the children of today who are pet owners of tomorrow about the importance of becoming responsible horse owners. Some of their furry friends will be on site along with a fundraising horsebox.
Knockanstackan organizers will also fundraise for 'Help Refugees' who aid at the Calais and Dunkerque Refugee Camps. are appealing to festival goers to drop off their unwanted items of clothing, camping gear and supplies before their departure after the weekend. All items will be delivered by the team to a dedicated distribution centre and transported to Calais and Dunkergue camps to refugees in need.
Knockanstackan takes place between 22-24th July and is an independent music and arts festival.
